On January 12 Ian Hodges and Charlene Pauls gave the world premiere of Las Blancas Sombras, for soprano and guitar. The work is a setting of poems by Antonio Machado, and was commissioned with financial assistance from the Manitoba Arts Council. The Hodges/Pauls Duo presented the U.S. premiere of the piece in Minneapolis the following week.
